World distribution. Chile.
Chilean distribution. Restricted only to Robinson Crusoe, Juan Fernández Islands, Valparaíso region (Fig. 164).
Altitudinal range. The species inhabits native forests in ravines and clifftops (200– 600 m.a.s.l.).
Biology. Platycheirus lundbladi inhabits only the Robinson Crusoe Island in the Juan Fernández Archipelago. There is no biological information about this species apart from some reports of floral visits by Bernardello et al. (2001). Smith-Ramírez et al. (2005) mentioned this species in their pollinator study in Chiloé. However, it was incorrectly identified (R. Barahona-Segovia corrected the identification as belonging to P. chalconota).
Conservation status. CR under B1ab (iii) + 2ab (iii) using EOO = 4 km 2, AOO = 4 km 2 and 1 locality (or subpopulation).
