Biology and notes. Fluke (1951) indicates that Dolichogyna chilensis is a native species that also inhabits Argentina and Peru. Marín-Armijos et al. (2017) also recorded it in Ecuador. The species visits flowers of Tepualia stipularis (Hook & Arn.) Griseb., (Smith-Ramírez et al., 2005) as well as other herbaceous plants, exotic and native trees such as E. cordifolia (R. Barahona-Segovia, pers. obs.). This species has also been recorded visiting the exotic Brassica rapa L. (Ricardo Huenuanca, CSP record); Euryops pectinatus (L.) Cass. (Gustavo Lezana, Norka Contreras, Peter Lewis and Yanira Venegas CSP records); Prunus sp. (Frank Montes, CSP record), Taraxacum officinale L. (Patricia Medina, CSP record), Ranunculus sp. (Norka Contreras, CSP record) and the native shrubs as Berberis sp. (Fernando González, CSP record) or Buddleja globossa Hope (Manuel Gedda, CSP record).
Conservation status. LC; EOO = 690,143 km 2; AOO = 112 km 2, 24 subpopulations and 26 localities.
