World distribution. Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Trinidad Island, Uruguay, Venezuela and Chile.

Chilean distribution. Lluta Valley in the Arica and Parinacota region (Fig. 185).

Altitudinal range. From coastal to inland valley ecosystems (0– 200 m.a.s.l.).

Biology and notes. Eosalpingogaster nigriventris is here reported from Chile for the first time. This species is morphologically similar to E. conopida . The species Ethelurgus rufipes (Brèthes) (Ichneumonidae), Prosaspicera cesarina (Brèthes) (Figitidae) and Trichomalus polviventris Brèthes have been mentioned as parasitoids of this species by Silva et al. (1968). It has been described that E. nigriventris prey on Coccidae and Diaspididae (Lizer y Trelles 1939; Knutson 1971).

Conservation status. DD; AOO = 2 km 2 and one locality (or subpopulation).
