Biology and notes. Syrphus pallipes is a native species. However, Etcheverry (1963) suggested this species is probably an incertae sedis. As in the case of S. auropulveratus, it has not been possible to register new individuals of S. pallipes since its original description. According to Adrian Pont (com. pers.), two specimens are deposited there. The revision of the type specimens could reveal its current status.
Conservation status. Not evaluated because not presented occurrences.
