CURRENT STATUS. — Luidia senegalensis (Lamarck, 1816) .

TYPE MATERIAL. — Senegal • 2 syntypes; Adanson leg.; MNHN- IE-2014-655.

REMARKS

Except for the two aforesaid syntypes, the species Luidia senegalensis was never reported from African coasts and the type locality should be wrong, as it is the case with several Adanson localities (see Madsen 1950: 205). Luidia senegalensis is a shallow water species from western Atlantic (Florida to north of Brazil).
