Type species: Eremus rugosifrons rugosifrons Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1888 .
Diagnosis. Body mostly small with blackish brown or brown stripes, wingless. Head large, usually as wide as the pronotum. Frons rough, between the eyes with wrinkles. Fastigium verticis wider than scape. Anterior margin of prontoum slightly projected, posterior margin almost straight. Hind femora ventrally armed. Male ninth abdominal tergite produced or hood-like; cerci slender, straight, divergent, with setaes, apices sharp; subgenital plate broad, with styli.
Species included. The genus consists of 9 species in total, one of which is distributed in China.
