Distribution. Brazil, Peru.

Remarks. Rare at the collection site. The two spots at the base of the pronotum, regarded by Giglio-Tos (1927) to be typical for the Guyanese H. ornata (Stoll, 1813), are not a valid diagnostic character, as they also occur in H. superba, but are prone to discoloration in alcohol.
