Distribution in Iran. Khuzestan (Linnavuori 2011).
General distribution. Italy, Macedonia, North Africa, Near East, Central Asia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia.
Comment. On Alhagi sp. ( Fabaceae), Juncus sp. ( Juncaceae), Tamarix sp. ( Tamaricaceae) (Linnavuori 2011). Schaefer (1981) commented on the host specificity of the species of Piesmatidae . Most of the Piesma genus group ( Piesma, Afropiesma, and Parapiesma) feed on a few genera of Chenopodiaceae, and a few feed on Caryophyllaceae, and one species ( Parapiesma linnavouri Štys, 1969) feeds on Acacia (Fabaceae) (Elias & Cassis 2012). Heiss & Péricart (1983) gave detailed records of the available host plant information for the Palearctic Piesmatidae, which agreed with Schaefer’s considerations.
