Diagnosis. This species is most similar to C. puncticollis, sharing a large body size, but is can be diagnosed easily by wide apical band (Figs. 13–15). The aedeagus also differs dramatically (Figs. 36–38, 39), i.e. C. puncticollis has pointed apice of aedeagus.
Description. Body length 9–10 mm. Dorsal surface with dense yellow pubescence. Coloration of head and pronotum metallic green with golden overtones on the disc. Mouthparts, antennomeres and legs yellow. Antennomeres IV–XI slightly darker. Elytra metallic green, with yellow lateral band on 2–3 external intervals; apical part of band widened. Ventral surface black, iridescent, except wide lateral band on all abdominal segments.
Head very shiny, without microsculpture; punctate, with small smooth area on vertex. Pronotum convex, weakly microreticulate, very deeply and densely punctate, less or no more than one diameter distance from each other. Lateral margins narrow. Lateral sides slightly sinuate before posterior angles. Elytra with striae deep, regularly minutely punctate. Intervals almost flat.
Aedeagus (Figs. 37–39).
Comments. The study of Holotypes of C. (Pseudochlaeniellus) farkaci Kirschenhofer, 2005 syn. n. and C. ( Pseudochlaeniellus) viangchanensis Kirschenhofer, 1998 syn. n. showed that there is no characters outside the range of intraspecific variation. Aedeagus structure is absolutely identical (Figs. 36–38). New synonymy is proposed here.
Distribution. Laos (country record), Thailand.
