Fidicinoides spinicosta (Walker 1850) comb. n.

This species has been incorrectly synonymized with F. passerculus but is a distinct species with a distribution that extends into Central America. It has been reported from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama (Metcalf 1963).
