Aulacochthebius Kuwert, 1887

Two species of Malagasy Aulacochthebius are now known. One of them, A. plicicollis is only known from four localities. The second, A. perlaevis, is more widely spread in distribution (Fig. 305), but still only known from 12 localities, most of which are lowland coastal in western Madagascar. The species are principally lentic, usually found in pools or other standing water habitats (e.g., Fig. 327).
