Orellana columbia (Distant, 1881b)

The species was transferred to Orellana Distant as the type species of the genus (Distant 1905b). Boulard (1975) assigned the species to Zammara Amyot and Audinet- Serville but later retained Orellana as a valid genus (Boulard and Sueur 1996). As a result, the species assignment to Orellana is clarified here. The presence of three tarsomeres separates Orellana from Zammara and this species possesses three tarsomeres. The species has been reported from Colombia (Metcalf 1963a). It has been reported from Medellin in Colombia (Distant 1881b; Jacobi 1907).
