Orellana brevis Distant, 1905b: 382 .

Zammara brevis Jacobi, 1907: 13 .

Orellana brevis Distant, 1914a: 25 .

Zammara brevis Schmidt, 1919: 385 .

Orellana brevis Goding, 1925: 7 .

Z [ammara] brevis Boulard, 1975: 314 .

Boulard (1975) placed the species in Zammara without explanation. Distant (1905b) originally described it in Orellana, which is considered to be valid (Boulard and Sueur 1996; see below). However, the species has two tarsomeres rather than the three tarsomeres of O. columbia (the type species for the genus). As a result, the species is reassigned to Zammara . The species is known from Colombia and Ecuador (Metcalf 1963a) but no specific locations in Colombia have been published.
