Description of Kocuria marina IMCC 25615
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, raised, entire and yellow colored after 10 days on R 2A at 20°C. Negative for arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, gelatin hydrolysis, glucose fermentation, Indole production, nitrate reduction and urease in API 20NE. D-Glucose, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose and potassium gluconate are utilized. Does not utilize N -acetyl-glucosamine, L-arabinose, adipic acid, capric acid, malic acid, phenylacetic acid and trisodium citrate. Strain IMCC 25615 (= NIBRBAC000498005) has been isolated from a fresh water sample, Inkyong lake, Incheon, Korea.
