Diagnosis: Size about 80µm. Conical and elongated body, apatulabout twice long as wide. Peduncle short and thin, about a third of the body’s length. Pellicle apparently without striations and with a slightly brownish color. Freshwater organisms.

Remarks: diagnosis compiled from the works of Müller (1786) and Kent (1881). According to Müller, there is a doubt whether this species is the same as described by Chevalier, as Chevalier’s Vorticella ringens has no description.
