Diagnosis: Size about 38–44µm long and 18–20µm wide. Transversely striated pellicle. Stalk measuring about half the size of the body, reaching same size in rare cases. Peristome size about half the width of the body. Horseshoe-shaped nucleus. Usually colonizes the dorsal region of the carapace of cladocerans of the genus Bosmina .
