Chrysogorgia dichotoma Thomson & Henderson, 1906

Chrysogorgia dichotoma Thomson & Henderson, 1906: 29–30, pl. 6, fig. 3 (Andaman Sea).

Opinion: There is no evidence that this species occurs in the region.

Justification:

Literature analysis: This species was described from a very badly damaged colony with no illustrations of the sclerites or polyps. Nutting recorded the species from Japanese waters but with no reference to having seen the holotype the record is unlikely to be correct. The species was included in Kükenthal (1919) with no illustrations and again in Kükenthal (1924) when it was grouped with those species of uncertain identification. Rao & Devi (2003) just listed the species.
