Miliolinella sp. 2 (Fig. 11:18–20)

Remarks. Miliolinella sp. 2 was illustrated by Haig (1997, figs 3, 22) as Miliolinella sp. from the Exmouth Gulf and by Parker (2009, fig. 96d–f) as Miliolinella sp. 3 from Ningaloo Reef. Miliolinella sp. 2 has a somewhat globular test that is wider than long with a rounded aboral end that is slightly flattened and an oval cross-section. All the chambers are greatly inflated with deep, oblique sutures and a pronounced aperture that spans the width of the test and is bound by a prominent, flat, protruding lip that curves slightly backwards. A long, flap-like tooth closely mirrors the shape of the lip and aperture. This species is also distinguished by a supplementary layer of rodshaped calcite crystals that provide the test with a rough, matte finish (Fig. 11:18–20).

Distribution within study area. Miliolinella sp. 2 was only found at site 15 in Wistari Lagoon and at site 10 of the ST/HW transect along the rampart of Heron Reef flat, with only two specimens collected per site.
