REMARKS. This is a fairly large species of Carineta . It can be easily distinguished from all other species of Bolivian Carineta by the reddish body coloration, two piceous spots on either side of the midline in the ambient pronotal fissure anterior to the pronotal collar, and the fact that the head and pronotum form a triangle.
DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported previously from Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, and Peru (Metcalf 1963c; Sanborn 2011a; 2013; Dias et al. 2017).
