Diagnosis. Slender, small, slightly depressed macropsine leafhopper resembling both V. breakeyi (Merino) and V. obtusa Hamilton, but differs from them in having either bidentate or tridentate pygofer process and a subapical ventral tooth on the dorsal sclerite of the dorsal connective (Viraktamath 1981).

Remarks. The specimens collected show color variation. The forewing is spotted with fuscous spots in some specimens (Figs 3 AB) and not so spotted in others (Fig. 3C). The pygofer also has either two or three tooth-like processes as reported in the original description (Viraktamath 1981).
