Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. (S.) dendrophila sp. nov. in the shape of male terminalia (Figs. 36, 43), but can be distinguished from the latter by having the surstylus with 1 peg-like tooth (Fig. 43B); the aedeagal opening nearly rhombic in ventral view, lacking serrated process distoventrally (Fig. 43C).
Description. Male: First flagellomere black. Clypeus yellow. Mesonotum black medially, brown laterally (Fig. 9E). Katepisternum yellowish (Fig. 9F). Scutellum black (Fig. 9E). Halter mostly dark brown (Fig. 9F). Fore femur with a row of 3 long setae on distal part of posteroventral surface. Abdominal tergites dark brown to black (Fig. 9E, F); sternites brownish to dark brown, about 1.6 times as wide as long. Male terminalia (Fig. 43): Epandrium with ca. 14 setae on dorsal to posterior portions per side (Fig. 43A). Surstylus with several setulae near distal margin and processes distodorsally (Fig. 43C, D). Aedeagal sheath distally acute, with some minute, serrated processes (Fig. 43E, F). Subepandrial sclerite deeply concave medially (Fig. 43G).
