Distribution. Worldwide except Australian region. MADEIRA: reported from many localities at different altitudes (China, 1938, no localities indicated; Lindberg, 1941; Lindberg, 1961). PORTO SANTO: sampled from southern coast up to high altitudes (Lindberg, 1961). Habitat. In grass places and cultivated areas (Lindberg, 1961).

Remarks. This species was misidentified by Lindberg (1941) as Delphacodes albicollis (Motschulsky, 1863) but subsequently corrected by him (Lindberg, 1961).
