Type locality. Peru, Cordillera Cumullca, 3600 m
Examined material. HT ♂ (CSt at MSNM); 1 ♂ (CAl)
Note. Species distinguished by a robust subapical inner spine on ♂ mesotibiae and by the morphology of aedeagus, which appears to relate it to B. bellesi, a species that lives in the same geographic area.
Distribution. The two recorded specimens are from the Andes of northern Peru, Dept. Cajamarca. Besides the HT (legit Weyroud 1947), this species is known from one specimen recently collected in Cajamarca, Cumbe Mayo (legit G. Allegro 2008).
Habitat. The recent capture of a specimen under a stone in Andean grassland at 3,750 m a.s.l. (Cumbe Mayo), as well as the data reported on the HT label, indicate a likely preference of this species for the high altitude grasslands.
