M. anchylodeirus was recently redescribed from different locations (Monniot F. 2016) and the Madibenthos material does not require more anatomical details except the spinules 0.2mm long figured here (Fig. 5). Microcosmus multitentaculatus Tokioka, 1953 was established as a junior synonym extending the geographical distribution of M. anchylodeirus to the Caribbean area, Brazil, Mediterranean Sea Korea and Japan.
