Evergestis aenealis ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)
Material examined. HMIM: Iran, Alborz Prov.: 1 ♂, Dizin, Velāyat Rood, 2250 m, 28.vii.1994, Ebrāhimi leg. ; SMNK: 1 ♂, N. Iran, Elburs-Mts. Masandaran (an erroneous spelling of Māzandarān Prov.), Polur, Damavand, 2500 m, 7.–10.vii.1972, Ebert & Falkner leg. , 1 ♀, Macedonien, Ohrid-Prespasee, 3.–6.vi.1962, H. Schiller leg. (ex. coll. H. Schiller) .
Distribution. Throughout Europe (excluding Great Britain and Ireland), Iran: Gorgan, Hesarchal valley (Sardab valley), Mirabi Mt., and Nesa (Lederer 1871; Osthelder 1938; Toll 1948; Amsel 1961; Goater 2005).
Remarks. Two of the three subspecies of this species viz., E. aenealis dimorphalis Osthelder, 1938 and E. aenealis obscura Toll, 1948, have been described from Iran (Osthelder 1938; Toll 1948; Goater 2005). The type localities of the former and latter subspecies are Hesarchal, Sardab valley in Elburz area (Osthelder 1938) and Mirabi Mt. in NE Iran (Toll 1948), respectively. The examined specimens have a gray forewing with yellowishbrown tint that match with E. aenealis dimorphalis .
