Current status. Ceylalictus (Ceylalictus) variegatus (Olivier, 1789) (synonymised by Handlirsch 1888: 403).

Distribution. North Africa, southern and central Europe, Russia (south of the European part, North Caucasus), Caucasus, Turkey, Near East, Central Asia, Kazakhstan, Iran, Afghanistan, Mongolia, China (Hebei, Beijing, Shangdong, Ningxia, Gansu, Xinjiang), NW India.
