Material examined: One specimen (9 x 5 mm) preserved in 10% formalin; collected on 03.05.2018 from west coast outside lagoon at 20 m depth (10°52.290’ N 72°10.227’ E), Agatti Island, Lakshadweep. (Regn. No. IO /DV/ POY/00002)
Description: Background colour black with velvety appearance and opaque. Black rim with orange submarginal band. Pseudotentacles square like, black with the same marginal bands. Ventrally black with same marginal bands. Unrecognizable cerebral eye-clusters due to the dark dorsal background colour.
Distribution: Lakshadweep Islands (present study), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India (Sreeraj et al. 2015); Australia; Indonesia; Maldives; Papua New Guinea; Solomon Islands and South Africa (Newman and Cannon 2003, 2005)
Remarks: This is a new record for Lakshadweep archipelago.
