Distribution: India (West Bengal); Australia (Queensland, New South Wales. Victoria); Borneo; Brunei; Caroline Islands; China; Guam; Hawaiian Islands; Japan; Kalimantan; Malaysia; Nepal; New Guinea; Philippine Islands; Sabah; Sarawak; Sri Lanka; Sumatra; Taiwan; Thailand; Vietnam (Diakonoff 1976; Robinson et al. 1994; Komai 1999; Pinkaew 2006; Nedoshivina 2013).
Hosts: Larvae feed primarily on the fruit of Fabaceae, including Acacia spp., Adenanthera pavonina, Bauhinia spp., Caesalpinia spp, Cassia spp., Delonix regia, Glycine max, Sesbania grandiflora, Tamarindus indica, and others. However, it also has been recorded from Lepisanthes rubinigosa and Litchi chinensis (Sapindaceae), Averrhoa carambola (Oxalidaceae), Limonia spp. and Citrus spp. ( Rutaceae), and many others (Bradley 1953; Simon Thomas 1958, 1962; Diakonoff 1968; Clarke 1976; Zimmerman 1978; Lingappa & Siddappaji 1981; Horak 2006).
