Genus Margarosmilia Volz, 1896

SPECIES ORIGINALLY INCLUDED. — Margarosmilia zieteni (Klipstein, 1843), M. confluens (Münster, 1841) as a variation of M. zieteni, M. richtofeni Volz, 1896, M. hintzei Volz, 1896, M. septanectens (Loretz, 1875) .

TYPE SPECIES. — Montlivaltia confluens Münster, 1841 by subsequent designation of Diener (1921).

In assumed infraction with the international code of zoological nomenclature, Cuif (1975) invoked in consistence with usage that preference should be accorded to M. zieteni and he designated a “ type specimen” (no. 4462). Despite of this unsatisfactory nomenclatural situation, and as a necessity, we rely on the descriptions of Cuif (1975) for the genus Margarosmilia .
