Types: ♂ holotype from France: Martinique: Macouba, northern slope of Mount Pelée Massif, 900– 110 m, J.- P. Mauriès leg., 25-II-1 981 . Paratypes (all from Martinique): 16 ♂♂, 13 ♀♀, 2 juv. from same locality as holotype; 2 ♀♀ from L'Ajoupa-Bouilion, Mount Pelée, L'Aileron, 1050 m, C. Juberthie leg., 22-III-1977 ; 1 ♂ from Gros Morne, 6 km NW of Gros Morne, forest between Morne Bellevue and Morne de l'Etang, 600–690 m, 11-II-1981 ; 1 ♀ from Schoeleher, Plateau Concorde, ca. 600 m, 23-II-1981; 4 ♂♂, 4 ♀♀ from Case-Pilote, path between Plateau Concorde and Morne Chapeau Nègre, ca. 650–850 m, 23-II-1981 ; 1 ♀ from Fonds Saint-Denis, Pitons du Carbet, between ribs, 1100 and 1200 m, SSW of Piton Boucher, 27-II-1981 ; 2 ♀♀ from Fonds Saint-Denis, Pitons du Carbet, between Pitons Boucher and Lacroix, 1000–1100 m, 27-II-1981 ; 1 ♂, 1 ♀, 1 juv. from Fonds Saint-Denis, path down from Piton Boucher, 950 m, J.-P. Mauriès leg., 19-XI-1983. Most material deposited at the MNHN but 6 ♂♂ and 2 ♀♀ paratypes at the ZMUM and 1 ♂, 1 ♀ paratypes at the VMNH (Golovatch et al. 2014).

Distribution: Endemic to Martinique, France, in the Lesser Antilles.
