Types: ♂ holotype from Costa Rica: Prov. Heredia: Puerto Viejo; Biolley leg., IV-1892. Deposited at the ZMB, cat. no. 1391, in the alcohol collection (Moritz & Fischer 1978; J. A. Dunlop, pers. comm.).

Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
