Types: P. schmitti, ♂ holotype from Panama: Prov . Darién: Port Obaldia; H. Pittier leg, around 1914. 1 ♂, 1 ♀ paratypes from Panama: Prov . Darién, Cana; E. A. Goldman leg., VI-1912. Deposited at the NMNH, cat. no . 2016 and 2017 (Martínez-Torres 2016; D. DeRoche, pers. comm.).

Psammodesmus remotus, ♂ holotype from Panama: Prov. Coclé: El Valle, 2200–2400 ft; 23-II-1959. Deposited at the FMNH, cat. no. 1063 (Sierwald et al. 2005; Martínez-Torres 2016).

Distribution: From NW Colombia to Central Panama.
