Barydesmus strenuus (Silvestri, 1897) new combination

Platyrrhachis strenuus Silvestri, 1897b: 19, Pl. III fig. 32a–c, 33–34 (original description).

Platyrhacus strenuus: Attems 1914: 260 (taxonomic comment).

Platyrhacus (Tirodesmus) clathratus strenuus: Attems 1938: 233, fig. 253–254 (combination; description).

Types: ♂ holotype from Ecuador: Riobamba. Originally deposited at the MTK, cat. no. 292, it is currently missing; whether it was destroyed during World War II or on loan and never returned is unknown (A. Reimann, pers. comm.).

Distribution: known only from the type locality.

Comments: Attems (1914) suggested a possible synonymy with P. clathratus .
