Barydesmus tambonus (Chamberlin, 1952) new combination

Aymaresmus tambonus Chamberlin, 1952: 580, fig. 44 (original description).

Platyrhacus tampocus: Jeekel 1963: 90 (combination); Sierwald et al. 2005: 22 (type information).

Types: ♂ holotype from Peru: Poco Tambo; W. H. Osgood and M. Anderson leg., 29-VI-1912. Deposited at the FMNH, cat. no. INS 915 (Sierwald et al. 2005).

Distribution: known only from the type locality.

Comments: in the original description (Chamberlin 1952) this species appears both as Aymaresmus tambonus (page 579, in the figure caption) and Aymaresmus tampocus (page 580, heading of the description). The second one must be a misprint. The correct name is Aymaresmus tambonus, as is also written in the original holotype label.
