Platyrrhacus aequatorialis Brölemann, 1900: 121, Pl. VIII fig. 106–109 (original description; preoccupied name).

Platyrhacus aequinoctius Attems, 1914: 249, 254 (new name; in dichotomous key).

Platyrrhacus cyrtorhabdus Brölemann, 1919: 261 (new name; diagnostic notes; synonymized in Jeekel 1963: 89).

Platyrhacus (Tirodesmus) aequinoctius: Attems 1938: 230, 238 (combination; description; in dichotomous key).

Types: ♂ and ♀ syntypes from Ecuador: Quito ? Material originally deposited at the MNHN, we could not confirm its current state; it is not listed in their on-line database.

Distribution: no certain information other than Ecuador.

Comments: Brölemann (1919) proposed the name P. cyrtorhabdus for his P. aequatorialis to resolve the homonymy with P. aequatorialis Silvestri, an action made five years earlier by Attems (1914), who named it P. aequinoctius .
