Platyrhacus acanthopleurus Hoffman, 1960: 111: 17, fig. 1c (original description).

Types: ♂ holotype from Colombia: Cauca Valley, 3000 ft. Deposited at the NMNH, cat. no. 2535 (Hoffman 1960; D. DeRoche, pers. comm.).

Distribution: known only from the type locality.
