Barydesmus acanthosternus (Brölemann, 1900) new combination

Platyrrhacus acanthosternus Brölemann, 1900: 120, Pl. VIII figs 103–105 (original description); Attems 1914: 254 (taxonomic comment; as Platyrhacus acanthosternus).

Types: ♂ holotype from Ecuador, without further locality. Deposited at the MNHN, cat. no. MY-MY218 (https:// science.mnhn.fr/institution/mnhn/collection/my/item/my218 last viewed 2/III/2018).

Distribution: Ecuador.

Comments: Attems (1914) suggested a possible synonymy with P. helophorus Attems, 1899 .
