Lugduno-Batavi 4: 18. 1868 ≡ Dysoxylum mollissimum subsp. molle (Miq.) Mabb. in Blumea 38: 309. 1994 – Holotype: Indonesia, Irian Jaya, south-west, Zippelius s.n. (L barcode L 0017257!).

Distribution. – Sulawesi to Bismarck Archipelago. Closely allied to Didymocheton mollissimus to the west, D. muelleri to the south and D. alliaceus to the east.
