Diagnosis. Antennomeres 20, the basal 2½ glabrous. 3+3 coxosternal teeth. Tergites without keels or spines. Sternites with paramedian sutures ± complete, sternite 21 narrowed posteriorly. Ultimate leg prefemur with 4 rows of spines. Legs 1–6 with 2 tarsal spurs. Ultimate leg without tarsal spur.

Distribution. East Sumba (Indonesia).

Remarks. Lewis (2001) noted that Wurmli’s (1972) O. politus schindleri was clearly O. angusticeps but whether or not it merited subspecific status was debatable. Lewis, (2003) redescribed the type and retained it as a subspecies O. angusticeps schindleri . Otostigmus a. angusticeps having three basal antennomeres glabrous runs down in the key to the politus group of species whereas O. p. schindleri runs down to the rugulosus group. It is clear that the key to species groups given in this paper needs to be refined but this will be best achieved after a review of all the species in the subgenus.
