Bolbochromus (Bolbochromus) hirokawai Ochi, Kon, & Kawahara, 2010
Identification. A variable species, the colour of the pronotum and elytra ranging from glossy orange to black, but without a distinct pattern (as, for instance, in B. catenatus and B. mindanaicus). Head punctate-rugulate, with small cone between the eyes; clypeus apicomedially protuberant. Parameres distinct, elongate-oval, adorned with set of setae. Eye foramina small (in full-face view), due to broad, arcuate eye canthi. Elytra with 7 striae between suture and humeral umbone. Anterolateral angle of pronotum (full-face view) distinct, obtusely angular. Larger than B. mindanaicus, body length 9.0– 11.5 mm. This is a species not seen by us, but the original description, well illustrated, is very useful for identification.
Distribution. Philippines: Negros
