Distribution. French Guiana.

Comparative diagnosis. This species belongs to the morphological group with glabrous mesoscutum. Pedinotus rufus (Braet and van Achterberg) is similar to P. elongatus sp. nov. and P. haliti sp. nov. The differences among these species are listed in the above key.

Remarks. A detailed illustrated description of this species was recently published (Braet et al., 2003) under the generic name Lamquetia Braet Barbalho et van Achterberg, 2003 .
