Genus Metamastigophorophyllon Ceuca, 1976

Persedicus Mauriès, 1982: 385 –390, figs 1–6, syn. nov.

Diagnosis. Differs from the other Caucasian anthroleucosomatids by the general shape of the anterior gonopods characterized by the presence of a medial part and two lateral branches, inner and outer, of which the inner one is subdivided, as well as by the presence of a well-developed, hairy, sternal lamella [exception: M. giljarovi (Lang, 1959), with a low and hairless sternal lamella]. Pleurotergites are only with barely visible lateral swellings.

Description. Body length 10–15 mm in males, 11–19 mm in females; number of body segments 31 in adults (including telson). Body pigmented. Head slightly concave or flattened in males. Antennae and walking legs normal. Lateral keels not developed, only barely visible lateral swellings present. Macrochaetae short, straight and trichoid. Leg-pairs 3–7 in males enlarged. Male leg-pair 7 with peculiarities. Leg-pairs 10 and 11 in males with coxal glands. Male leg-pair 10 with a posterior coxal horn.

Anterior gonopods with a hairy sternal lamella (sl) on anterior side of sternal plate (sp) (exception: M. giljarovi with a hairless sternal lamella). Coxal processes (cp) consisting of a medial part (mp) and two lateral branches: an outer (ob) and an inner (ib) one. Inner branch subdivided into anterior (aib) and posterior (pib) parts.

Posterior gonopods with completely divided coxites (c). Telopodites (t) present on posterolateral sides, covered by numerous setae (exception: M. giljarovi with hairless telopodites). Coxal processes (cp) curved posteromesally. Coxal vesicles (cv) present on anterior sides.

Distribution. Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Russia (Lang 1959; Mauriès 1982; Enghoff & Moravvej 2005, present study) (Fig. 166).

Type species. Mastigophorophyllon giljarovi Lang, 1959, by monotypy.
