Diagnosis. Trathala flavoorbitalis has few obvious specific characters. Its coloration is somewhat variable but it may be separated from most Trathala species in the Indian Ocean subregion by metasomal tergites I-II which are invariably black-brown while the remainder of the metasoma is orange.

Description. Rousse et al. (2011).

Host records. Seventy-eight host records, all Lepidoptera (Gelechoidea, Noctuoidea, Pyraloidea, Tineoidea and Tortricoidea) .

Distribution records. Reunion (new record). Madagascar (Rousse et al. 2011). Widespread through Indo- Pacific and Eastern Oriental area. Introduced without establishment into USA and Canada for biological control purpose.
