Bulletin du Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, série 2, 1: 431 (Lecomte 1929).
TYPES. — Cambodia. X.I. Tonlé Om [= Siem Reap. <X.I.> Tonle Om], Béjaud s.n. (lecto-, P [P00721450]!, Fig. 1, designated here; possible isolecto-, P [P00721451]!) .
NOTES
Lecomte (1929: 431) cited “ Béjaud, sans numéro ” collected from Tonle Om in Cambodia as the original gathering. There are two matching specimens at P (P00721450 and P00721451), identified as Diospyros cambodiana by Lecomte in his own handwriting. The annotation “X.I.” on the label is unlikely to represent the collector number, as all other collections by Béjaud have his serial number written in Arabic numerals. In addition, the herbarium received the specimen barcoded P00721450 on 24.VI.1929 and the specimen barcoded P00721451 on 18.IV.1929, therefore these two sheets may not belong to the same gathering. The specimen Béjaud s.n. (P[P00721450]) contains annotations and drawings that match the protologue, and therefore is designated as the lectotype.
