Northern Sea of Japan, Sea of Okhotsk, Kuril Islands to Commander–Aleutian Chain, to northern Chukchi Sea ( as far north as 71°30’N, 167°06’W) (Mecklenburg et al. 2016), eastern Bering Sea (Lauth and Nichol 2013); two records from Prince William Sound, Gulf of Alaska (Johnson et al. 2012). Benthic; marine and brackish waters (Dyldin and Orlov 2017); depth: intertidal to 60 m (197 ft) (min.: Mecklenburg et al. 2016; max.: Federov et al. 2003).
