Diagnosis
Black antennae and mesepisternum distinguish the females from the darker specimens of E. miliaris . Male not known for certain.

Host plants
Populus tremula . Records from Salix (Georgiev et al. 2002) and Betula (Boevé 1990) need confirmation.

Palaearctic. Specimens studied are from Belgium, Czech Republic (uncertain male), Finland, Germany, Russia, and Sweden.
