175 Euura fagi (Zaddach, 1876)

Figs 194, 545

Nematus fagi Zaddach, 1876: Taf. II, 1. Holotype ♀, probably destroyed (Blank & Taeger 1998). Type locality: Poland, Gdansk [Danzig], Jäschkenthale.

Diagnosis

Usually almost completely pale and very similar to E. miliaris . First metatarsomere is about 4 times as long as broad and darker in E. fagi (about 3 times as long as broad and paler in E. miliaris). A male from Czech Republic (DEI-GISHym13853) is confirmed to be E. fagi based on COI. The male has a penis valve (Fig. 545) similar to E. viridis, but malar space is about as long as diameter of front ocellus, like in E. miliaris (the malar space is longer in E. viridis, at least usually).

Host plants

Nuclear

Only one sequence available, a female with haplotypes diverging by 0%. The nearest neighbour, diverging by a minimum of 1.18%, is Euura miliaris .

Distribution and material examined

Palaearctic. Specimens studied are from Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
