Hipposideros lamottei Brosset, 1985
This species was originally described from Guinean Nimba (Brosset, 1985), and is probably endemic to that region (Monadjem et al., 2013 b). Problems with identification (e.g. Koopman et al., 1995) have been shown to result from an incorrect description of the type specimen (Decher and Fahr, 2007; Monadjem et al., 2013 b). This species was collected in 2008 and 2012 in mine adits at Pierré Richaud and Chateaux peaks, at 1,500 m a.s.l. in Guinean Nimba. It is listed as Critically Endangered and its only known roosting sites are located within the mining concession in Guinean Nimba (Mickleburgh et al., 2008).
