Iphisa elegans soinii Dixon, 1974

Type-locality. Nuevo Tocache, Departmento San Martin, Peru, 650 m.

Distribution and habitat. Iphisa elegans soinii is endemic to western Amazonia, occurring in Brazil and Peru, along the Marañón, Ucayali, Jutaí, and Juruá river systems (Fig. 11). Dixon (1974b) also reported it from Bolivia. Iphisa elegans soinii is terrestrial and diurnal, inhabits primary and secondary forest, where it is found among leaf litter (Dixon 1974b).
