(Fig. 2 A–C)

Ciliate parasites of the cuticle of gammarid amphipods. The trophont cell body is ovoid and flattened. The left body rim is more convex than the right one. The ventral side of cell body is slightly concave while the dorsal side is convex. There are two kineties on the dorsal body surface, oriented parallel to the edges, and ending posteriad on two short cytoplasmatic projections. In addition there is a short dorsal kinety near to the anterior end. On the ventral surface three kineties running parallel to the edges on each body side are present. The ventral cytostome is situated on the anterior third of the cell and is provided with a rosette. The rosette septae arranged parallel to one another. There is a cytoplasmatic projection near the posterior end of the ventral body surface. The macronucleus is large and U-shaped; the micronucleus was not observed. A contractile vacuole is situated in the posterior end of body.

Measurements (in µm): Trophont length from 20 to 30 (after Fenchel, 1965).

Type host: Gammarus oceanicus .

Type locality: Asko (Denmark).
